Seat Upholstery Instructions



Remove the SeatsFour bolts hold each seat in place. Slide the seat all the way back to get the front 2 bolts and then all the way forward to access the rear 2 bolts.
Separate the Seat HalvesThe upper and lower seat portions must be separated from each other. Remove the seat recline handle and the seat mechanism cover. Remove the bolts that hold the top half to the bottom half on each side of the seat.
Remove the Seat TracksRemove the four bolts that hold both seat tracks in place.
Remove the Upholstery from the Seat BottomLooking at the underside of the seat bottom, remove all visible hog rings. Hog rings are easiest to remove with needle nose pliers.


Remove Upper Seat UpholsteryLocate the zipper at the bottom of the seat back. Unzip and slowly roll the seat upholstery up and off of the seat back.
Install the Upper Seat UpholsteryThe new upholstery installs in the reverse order as disassembly.
Roll the new seat back material over the seat foam. No glue or adhesive is required since the upholstery kit has all of the seat foam sewn in just like the factory originals.
Zip the lower zipper, tuck the zipper up into the upholstery and Be careful not to over stretch the seams of the new upholstery, this could cause them to rip. When you come to a tight spot, compress the seat back foam in order to get the new material in place and avoid stretching the seams of your new upholstery.

Install the Lower Seat UpholsteryThe new upholstery installs in the reverse order as disassembly. Roll the new seat material over the seat foam/frame. No glue or adhesive is required since the upholstery kit has all of the seat foam sewn in just like the factory originals.
Be careful not to over stretch the seams of the new upholstery, this could cause them to rip. When you come to a tight spot, compress the seat foam in order to get the new material in place and avoid stretching the seams of your new upholstery.
Install the new hog rings as you go in similar locations to the originals. Make sure you pull the material tight so that you do not end up with loose spots and/or wrinkles in the finished product.

Almost DoneAssemble the seat halves in the reverse order that they were taken apart.
Bolt the seat tracks back in place and put your new seats in your Fiero.
Any small wrinkles will flatten out with use or a steamer can speed this process up.
