A faulty tach filter can cause several problems, the most common of which is an erratic tachometer. The tach filter is a silver cylinder that is mounted near the ignition coil. It is approximately 1" long with one wire in, one wire out and a two wire female connector. Our reproduction tach filter is a direct replacement for 85-88 V6 models. It can also be spliced or soldered into 84-86 4Cyl models.
Note: For 4cyl use, the white wire from the replacement tach filter should be spliced into the wire that leads to the coil.
